1. Who We Are

TRIMR ("we", "us", "our") is a free, browser-based audio trimming tool available at https://trimr.net. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our service works.

2. Audio Files — Zero Server Contact

TRIMR processes all audio entirely within your browser using the Web Audio API and the OfflineAudioContext. When you load an audio file into TRIMR:

• The file is read locally by your browser — it is never uploaded to any server.
• All waveform rendering, trimming, and encoding (WAV, MP3, WebM, OGG) happens in-browser.
• The exported file is generated locally and downloaded directly to your device.
• We have no technical ability to access, view, or store your audio files.

3. Analytics Data We Collect

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage statistics. This helps us understand how the tool is being used so we can improve it. GA4 may collect:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution
• Country-level location (no precise location)
• Events such as "export" actions and format selected (no file names or content)
• Referral source (how you arrived at TRIMR)

All analytics data is anonymised and aggregated. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information unless you contact us directly.

4. Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish users and sessions. These are analytics cookies and do not track personal files or activity outside of trimr.net. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Contact Form Data

If you submit a message through our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message content you provide. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties.

6. Service Worker

TRIMR uses a Service Worker to inject required HTTP security headers (Cross-Origin-Opener-Policy and Cross-Origin-Embedder-Policy). The Service Worker does not collect, transmit, or log any data.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google Fonts — font delivery via fonts.gstatic.com (no cookies set)
• Cloudflare CDN — delivery of the lamejs MP3 encoder library

8. Data Retention

We do not store your audio files at all. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months under standard GA4 settings. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Since we hold minimal personal data (only contact form submissions), please contact us with any requests.

10. Children's Privacy

TRIMR is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of TRIMR after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
